Our Story

I’ve been teaching privately since I was 18 years old teaching my first piano lessons to kids of good friends of mine from church. Through my college years I taught privately while I earned my degree in Music Composition from Brigham Young University.

I started Art Moore Studios over 10 years ago and taught on my own for many of those years. I taught students locally as well as all over the country.

Things got interesting…

Then the pandemic hit. People started asking, “How are lessons going to continue if the school shut down?”

My eight years of experience teaching online all over the country kicked into high gear. I was already set up and prepared for distance learning, and able to deliver the same high level instruction that I had been doing since I was 18.

Is this working?

The whole studio went online overnight. Parents were impressed. Kids were happy. The instruction was the same. The students were progressing, and many did better online than they had done in person. It worked, and it worked well.

Parents were noticing advantages that they loved. They saved time going to and from lessons. Lessons were rarely missed because they would jump onto our lesson call the minute they realized they were late.

Recitals for those who were local were still in person. Those located all over the country and as far away as Europe, were able to participate in virtual recitals, which were not only fun, but provided that performance experience as well.

Getting Some Good Help

As I got more and more interest in lessons, I knew it was time for the studio to grow. After spending much time seeking the right people, I was able to bring on quality teachers who were trained in my techniques and my philosophies. They work with students online like I do and they do their work well.
