Why do online lessons work so well?
Students rarely miss a lesson because they (or their parent) forgot–because let’s face it, life is busy and we all drop a ball now and then. Before, when a student forgot about a lesson, trying to get to the studio to claim any remaining lesson time was hardly worth it. Now if a student forgets lesson time, the teacher texts within a few minutes, and the student jumps on.
It reduces travel time on the parent. For many, getting high quality instruction means you must travel a long way to that instructor. Now we come to you through the internet, and your valuable time is retained.
Relationships are still relationships. They aren’t impacted just because we’re online. We still make jokes, laugh through lessons, and mentor the same way we would if we were in person.
Students become online education experts. More and more of our educational experiences will be online as our society progresses. High schools and colleges already have many of their courses either online, or have large online components baked into the course. Students who experience our carefully guided online lessons every week will be more prepared to handle an online education experience elsewhere.
Instruction can last through major life changes. Get a new job? Need to move closer to family? With online instruction (and our optional online recitals), students can maintain their music teacher and that working relationship no matter where you need to be or go. It adds stability to a situation that is changing.
Vacations don’t mean that we have to miss lessons. While we have an excellent makeup lessons system, we can still have your lesson while you’re on vacation, whether you have your instrument or not. We’ve taught lessons from soccer fields, beautiful forest areas, and even once from a taco shop in Washington DC! This possibility makes it fun and allows us to keep lessons consistent.
